The fourth annual “Learn About Your Home Waters” speaker series, focusing on water use, conservation, fish reintroduction, and habitat restoration along the Deschutes River, launches on April 23. Organized by Central Oregon Community College and the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council, the series costs $65 and includes two riverside field trips and four evening lectures at the High Desert Museum, running bi-weekly through June 12.
Local conservation experts will lead the outings to sites like Wickiup Reservoir and Round Butte Dam, with presentations from various organizations including the U.S. Forest Service and the University of Oregon. This series targets local residents, citizen scientists, and naturalists interested in river conservation.
