Authorities discovered unauthorized payments, possibly exceeding $1.5 million, made to the Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council. The Alliance’s Executive Director, Jared Weybright, reported this in May and noted that an employee linked to the incident was terminated. EWEB has assured that none of its employees are implicated and is assessing the impact on its funds. The Oregon Department of Justice is reviewing the situation, while both organizations are cooperating with federal and state investigations to enhance financial oversight.
