Dean Kathy Straub emphasizes the program’s focus on watershed restoration, which aligns with Pennsylvania’s environmental needs and the university’s location by the Susquehanna River. The minor combines courses from various disciplines, including earth sciences, ecology, and policy, granting students hands-on experience at the university’s Center for Environmental Education and Research. Assistant Professor Siobhan Fathel will lead the program, which benefits from partnerships with organizations like the Chesapeake Conservancy.
