The Sierra Institute for Community and Environment is launching two five-week work sessions for its Plumas Conservation, Restoration, and Education in Watersheds (P-CREW) youth corps, starting June 16. P-CREW aims to train future land stewards through activities like forest thinning, invasive species removal, and trail maintenance. Over nearly a decade, P-CREW has contributed significantly to community safety by managing forest conditions that aid firefighters. Achievements in the last three years include installing over 3 miles of fencing, maintaining 11.4 miles of trails, and the removal of over 95,000 invasive species. Further details and donation options are available on their website.
