A cold front hit Central Texas, dropping temperatures from the 70s to the 20s by Sunday morning. Saturday will see morning lows around 30-40°F under clear skies and gusty north winds. Afternoon highs will only reach the 50s, significantly below normal for mid-January. Runners in the Spurs Austin International Half Marathon should dress warmly. The coldest air arrives Sunday, with lows possibly in the teens in isolated areas. For Martin Luther King Jr. Day, expect sunny but chilly weather, with lows in the 20s in the Hill Country and highs around mid-60s in Austin. Next week, rain is forecasted, potentially bringing much-needed moisture to the region.
