Comox Valley Nature will host a presentation by Laura O’Brien from the Tsolum River Restoration Society on January 25, 2026, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Comox United Church. The talk, titled “Tsolum River Watershed – River Resilience in the 21st Century,” will cover the river’s history, current climate challenges, and environmental issues like invasive species threatening native salmon.

O’Brien, a long-time resident and volunteer with the society, aims to raise public awareness about river stewardship and pollution from acid mine drainage. The event reflects Comox Valley Nature’s mission to engage the community in environmental education and conservation activities. Comox Valley Nature, a non-profit, offers various educational programs and supports multiple nature-focused groups. Membership details are available on their website.
