This Earth Month, volunteers will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Duwamish Alive! on April 18, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, working to restore native habitats along Seattle’s Duwamish River. These efforts are vital for the river’s ecosystem, supporting species like the threatened Chinook salmon, crucial for Southern Orcas. The restoration also enhances air and water quality while mitigating heat impacts in low-income areas. The event emphasizes the ancestral lands of the Duwamish Peoples and is open to families and all skill levels, with tools provided. Interested volunteers must register in advance.
