The Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds (FPW) invests in conservation projects across the state, distributing grants biannually to enhance water quality and restore habitats. Executive Director Deborah Nardone emphasizes the urgent need to support organizations involved in these efforts. In the Fall 2025 cycle, FPW awarded grants totaling $265,000 to various projects, including conservation easements, waste flow documentation, habitat improvement, and outreach programs. Notable projects include funding for Allegheny Land Trust and Tree Pittsburgh. Additionally, FPW, in collaboration with the Fish and Boat Commission, completed the Unassessed Waters Initiative, assessing 361 streams for wild trout presence. The next grant cycle opens in February 2026, aimed at ensuring clean water for future generations.
