H2Ozarks is inviting locals to participate in developing a comprehensive Table Rock Lake Watershed Management Plan (WMP) alongside the Ozarks Environmental and Water Resources Institute. Community members can join an online stakeholder advisory group to address water quality impairments and strategies for improvement. Notably, the James River arm, a significant tributary, is excluded from the WMP due to an existing Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) plan aimed at reducing nutrient pollution. Established in 2001, the TMDL helped restore water quality and is complemented by a separate WMP for the James River, accepted by the EPA in 2021. The Table Rock WMP is funded by a $190,000 grant aimed at enhancing overall water quality in the region.
