The largest permanent restoration in Minnesota’s Cedar River Watershed is taking place, converting 225 acres of former cropland into native prairie east of Blooming Prairie. The Dodge and Mower Soil & Water Conservation Districts have seeded the land with six varieties of native plants. This project, while on privately owned land, aims to enhance water quality and overall watershed health, reducing stormwater runoff, soil erosion, and nitrate levels in water systems.
