A wildfire near Nafpaktos, western Greece, is almost under control, according to local officials. Deputy regional governor Thanasis Mavrommatis stated that barring any flare-ups, the fire should be contained soon, with no immediate threat to settlements. An emergency alert was issued for the Ano Platanitis area advising residents to evacuate. Decreased winds have helped firefighting efforts, which involve around 105 firefighters, 33 fire engines, five airplanes, and three helicopters.
