A powerful coast-to-coast storm has led to large, fast-moving wildfires in South Dakota and Wyoming, prompting evacuations. In Pennington County, South Dakota, the Greyhound Fire has rapidly spread across approximately 200 acres, fueled by wind gusts up to 70 mph. Highway 40 and Playhouse Road are closed, and residents along the highway between Playhouse Road and Rushmore Ranch Road have been evacuated. Authorities advise evacuees to check the Pennington County Public Safety Hub for updates. (foxweather.com)

Similarly, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, a grass fire in the Winchester Hills area has led to evacuations. Wind gusts in the region have reached up to 75 mph. The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Warning and established a shelter at South High School for evacuated residents. (foxweather.com)

These wildfires underscore the severe impact of the coast-to-coast storm, which has also caused travel disruptions due to hurricane-force winds and heavy rain across the Northwest. (foxweather.com)

Residents in affected areas are urged to stay informed through local authorities and adhere to evacuation orders to ensure their safety.
