Next month, The Watershed Center in Longmont will host two free outdoor events focused on forestry treatments and riverfront restoration.
On September 6, a Coulson Gulch Forestry and Fire Resilience Field Tour will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., where participants will learn about forestry initiatives on U.S. Forest Service lands and local forest management, guided by the St. Vrain Forest Health Partnership. Free lunch will be provided.
On September 13, the “Seeds & Scones” tour will offer a five-mile bike ride or walking tour from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Participants will explore recent river restoration efforts affected by wildfire and floods, with free coffee and baked goods provided.
Participation requires pre-registration, and attendees are encouraged to bring essentials like water, snacks, and appropriate gear. The events aim to connect the community with local ecosystems and enhance understanding of environmental stewardship.
