The Eastland Complex wildfire three years ago still leaves lasting scars, both physically and emotionally. Jonathan Fenley remembers his mother, Sgt. Barbara Fenley, a former police chief who, while assisting with evacuations, tragically lost her life when the wildfire engulfed her vehicle. A memorial cross marks the spot, and the road has been renamed in her honor. Jonathan reflects on the trauma caused by wildfires, feeling anxious whenever wind picks up. With Eastland County facing new wildfire threats, he encourages people to take warnings seriously and check on loved ones for safety.
